Nørresø

Nørresø is a protected lake near Brahetrolleborg with winding shores and old forest surrounding it on all sides. The water body stretches across several kilometers and offers multiple access points and walking paths through the adjacent natural areas.

The lake gained historical importance when the small island Lucieø within it was given to Danish poet Jens Baggesen in 1785 by the count of the Brahetrolleborg estate. This literary connection remains part of the lake's story today.

The area connects to Brahetrolleborg church, which displays a marble baptismal font and represents local religious heritage.

A parking area on Brændegårdsvej north of Brændegård Lake provides direct access for visitors to the area. A roughly 5-kilometer hiking trail allows you to explore the shores and surrounding forest.

The lake is home to a cormorant colony that can be regularly observed along its shores. In autumn, sea eagles and large flocks of wild geese also appear there, highlighting its importance as a bird habitat.
