Randers Tropical Zoo, Indoor tropical zoo in Randers, Denmark.
Randers Tropical Zoo is an indoor facility featuring three large glass domes that each recreate a tropical region from a different continent. The enclosures house more than 250 animal species in controlled environments that maintain warm, humid conditions year-round.
The zoo started with two domes focused on African and Asian habitats before adding a third to represent South America. This expansion allowed the facility to display a wider range of tropical regions and their inhabitants.
The zoo demonstrates how people around the world work together to protect endangered species and their habitats. By showing animals from different continents side by side, it helps visitors understand the variety of tropical life.
The indoor spaces remain warm and humid year-round regardless of Danish weather, so visitors can dress lightly for the tropical environment. The facility is fully accessible to wheelchair users throughout all exhibition areas, with clear signage to help you navigate easily.
Special evening events let visitors observe nocturnal animals as they become active after dark, creating a different experience than daytime visits. Using flashlights, guests can spot creatures that are normally hidden and witness their natural nighttime behavior.
