Den Frie Udstilling

Den Frie Udstilling is a contemporary art museum in Copenhagen's Østerbro neighborhood housed in a wooden structure that incorporates Egyptian and Greek architectural details, including a notable Pegasus relief on its facade. The building sits at Oslo Plads and presents roughly ten exhibitions per year featuring works of modern art.

The museum began in 1891 when artists rejected rigid admission standards at an established institution and founded their own exhibition space instead. In 1913, the organization relocated to its current location where it continued to operate as an independent forum for artistic expression.
