Vejle Fjord Bridge

The Vejle Fjord Bridge extends 1712 meters across the water, featuring 15 spans and a central section measuring 110 meters in length.

Construction of the bridge started in 1975 to address traffic congestion in Vejle, with the official opening ceremony taking place in July 1980.

The bridge design reflects Danish architectural preferences of the 1970s, incorporating neutral elements that complement the surrounding fjord and forest landscape.

The structure carries the European route E45 motorway across Vejle Fjord, providing passage for approximately 50,000 vehicles each day between Mølholm and Nørremarken.

The bridge maintains a clearance of 40 meters above the water surface, allowing large vessels to pass underneath while connecting the northern and southern regions.
