The three-winged manor complex stands on a fortified hill, completely encircled by water-filled moats next to the village church of Ruds Vedby.

Queen Margaret I of Denmark owned the estate in the early 14th century before it returned to the Crown in 1369 through a property exchange.

The southern wing contains preserved painted decorations and ceilings from the 16th century, along with a collection of Danish Golden Age paintings.

The park welcomes visitors throughout the year, while guided tours of the main building require advance reservations through the property management.

The narrow southern wing features original medieval elements including arched windows and defensive loopholes from its construction period.
