Birkegårdens Haver

The gardens contain Danish-English, Japanese, Prairie, Monastery, and Permaculture sections, spread across an expansive landscaped property with diverse plant collections.

The property transformed from a farmhouse with livestock in 1970 into public gardens in 1996, marking a shift from agricultural activities to horticultural displays.

Birkegårdens Haver features Denmark's largest Japanese garden, established in 1997, incorporating traditional elements of Japanese garden design and meditation spaces.

The gardens provide wheelchair borrowing services, accessible paths, picnic areas with grills, and dedicated facilities for families with young children.

During winter, the gardens transform into 'Eventyrlig Jul' with three Christmas gardens, markets, and seasonal activities from November through December.
