Kalø Hovedgård, Manor house near Rønde, Denmark
The main building of Kalø Hovedgård stands in three wings, constructed with timber framing and surrounded by agricultural structures from the 1700s.
After King Christian V gifted the buildings to his half-brother in 1672, Count Conrad Reventlow acquired the estate in 1690, marking 250 years of private ownership.
The Jenisch family from Holstein established regular hunting traditions at Kalø, constructing a dedicated hunting lodge in 1898 for seasonal game activities.
The restored Karlsladen building functions as a visitor center, presenting exhibitions about Nationalpark Mols Bjerge to the public.
The Institute for Bioscience at Aarhus University now operates from the main building, while the Danish Nature Agency manages the surrounding estate.
