Knuthenlund, Manor house in Stokkemarke, Denmark.
Knuthenlund is an estate spanning around 960 hectares of agricultural land on the island of Lolland in southeastern Denmark. The property includes fields, pastures, forests, and buildings that function as a working farm today.
Count Adam Christopher Knuth founded the estate in 1729 by combining five tenant farms, Ugleholt Forest, and additional holdings. It remained under family ownership for generations and shaped the farming development of the region.
The estate practices biodynamic farming and raises rare Danish cattle breeds like Danish Red cattle visible on the land. Visitors can observe how these traditional farming methods shape daily work and connect people to the landscape around them.
The farm shop sells homemade products such as award-winning goat and sheep cheese. Weekday visits work best when the shop is open and you can see animals grazing on the pastures.
The property operates its own flour mill that processes specialty grains like spelt and Oland wheat for sale across Denmark. These heritage grain varieties are grown on site and draw interest from people seeking traditional agricultural products.
