Dodekalitten, Sculpture garden in Kragenæs, Denmark
Dodekalitten is a sculpture garden in Kragenæs, Lolland, with stone figures arranged in a circle spanning about 40 meters across. Electronic music plays throughout the daytime hours at the site.
The stone monuments commemorate travelers who arrived in Lolland roughly 7500 years ago as climate changes triggered by the Bosporus Strait breakthrough forced migration. These events shaped the region's early settlement patterns.
The site brings together sculpture by Thomas Kadziola and musical work by Wayne Sigel into a single outdoor art experience in the Danish landscape. This partnership of two artists shapes how visitors experience the place.
Access comes via a roughly fifteen-minute forest walk from Kragenæs Harbor, with handicap-accessible parking near Glentehøjstien. The straightforward approach makes it an easy destination for an afternoon outing.
When finished in 2025, the installation will show twelve granite pillars facing inward, each representing ancient travelers through carved forms and expressions. Every pillar carries its own artistic mark.
