Viking Museum Ladby

Viking Museum Ladby preserves Denmark's only known Viking ship grave at its original location beneath a reconstructed burial mound. The grave contains the remains of an important leader along with archaeological finds that demonstrate the effort invested in this burial.

The ship and its contents were uncovered during excavations in 1935 and date to 925. The discovery represents a time when powerful leaders were buried with considerable resources, making this grave a rare example of such practices.
