Viking Museum Ladby

Viking Museum Ladby preserves Denmark's only known Viking ship grave at its original location beneath a reconstructed burial mound. The grave contains the remains of an important leader along with archaeological finds that demonstrate the effort invested in this burial.

The ship and its contents were uncovered during excavations in 1935 and date to 925. The discovery represents a time when powerful leaders were buried with considerable resources, making this grave a rare example of such practices.

The place is named after the ruler whose grave was discovered here, and the exhibition reveals how people lived and worked during that period. Visitors can see objects that were excavated and understand why this location held such importance for the community at that time.

The site is accessible from outside the town, and visits are possible on most days of the week. The facility offers accessible entrances for visitors with limited mobility.
