Ladby ship, Viking ship burial site in Kerteminde Municipality, Denmark.
The Ladby ship measures 21.5 meters in length and 3 meters in width, featuring spaces for 32 rowers across 16 pairs of oars.
Excavated between 1935 and 1937, the ship contained over 2000 iron rivets that allowed archaeologists to determine its original construction and dimensions.
The burial included eleven horses and numerous weapons, indicating the deceased individual held an important status in Viking society around 925 AD.
The Viking Museum Ladby presents the original burial site and artifacts through exhibits, operating from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 16:00.
The iron anchor found at the site remains attached to an 11-meter chain, representing the only complete anchor system discovered from the Viking Age.
