B&W Halls, Industrial complex in Refshaleøen, Denmark
B&W Halls are two large industrial spaces on Refshaleøen with high ceilings and steel frameworks. They now house multiple facilities including a paintball arena and theatrical workshop spaces that make use of the expansive interior.
Built in 1960 by the Burmeister & Wain shipyard, the halls served ship production until operations ceased in 1996. Their closure marked the end of a long shipbuilding era at this location.
After shipbuilding operations ended, the halls were repurposed as a gathering place for diverse activities and events. Today they serve as a venue where people experience entertainment and creative uses of industrial space.
The halls are accessible for various activities and events held within the large space. Visitors should check ahead about current offerings, as activities may have specific requirements or seasonal availability.
One of the halls contains an indoor roping track positioned high above the floor, taking advantage of the space's impressive height. This facility makes creative use of the industrial structure's dimensions.
