Khenchela Province

Khenchela Province is an administrative region in northeastern Algeria that encompasses mountainous terrain and farming areas. The territory is divided into eight administrative districts managing twenty-one municipalities.

The province received its administrative status in 1984 when territories were reassigned from neighboring regions. This establishment reorganized the local administrative structure.

The local population maintains Chaoui traditions through traditional crafts and regional celebrations that shape everyday life. Visitors can experience these practices firsthand in local markets and during community gatherings.
