Tallinn Zoo

The 89-hectare zoo houses 7,485 animals across 350 species, including 47 endangered species that require special protection and care.

The zoo commenced operations on August 25, 1939, with a lynx named Illu as its first resident, which later became the emblem animal.

Throughout the year, the zoo conducts educational programs about wildlife conservation, featuring special events such as International Tiger Day on July 29.

Access to indoor exhibits closes at 3:30 PM, while seasonal opening hours extend from 9 AM until 7 PM during summer months.

The facility maintains the largest collection of mountain goats and sheep globally, along with substantial groups of eagles and owls.
