The St. Mary's Lutheran Church stands on a hilltop, featuring Gothic architectural elements with low-hanging chandeliers and detailed woodwork throughout the interior.
The initial church construction dates back to 1671, with major reconstruction work completed in 1890 under the direction of architect R. Guleke.
The Estonian Students' Society consecrated their blue, black, and white flag in this church in 1884, which later became the national flag of Estonia.
The church maintains regular religious services and community gatherings, while also welcoming visitors interested in exploring its architectural features.
Bas-relief sculptures near the gates commemorate the flag consecration event, originally installed in 1934, destroyed during Soviet rule, and restored in 1989.
