Agilkia island, Island in Egypt
Agilkia Island is known for its ancient Egyptian temples.
It was the relocation site of Philae temples to save them from flooding caused by the Aswan Dam construction.
The island is part of the Nubian Monuments from Abu Simbel to Philae UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Accessible by boat, it's a popular tourist destination in Aswan Governorate.
The temple complex of Agilkia has been painstakingly moved from its original location on Philae Island.
