Brothers Islands Lighthouse, Maritime lighthouse in Red Sea, Egypt
The Brothers Islands Lighthouse features a cylindrical stone tower with a balcony and lantern, reaching a height of 31 meters above sea level.
The British administration constructed this lighthouse in 1883 to guide maritime traffic through the Red Sea, with subsequent renovations completed in 1993.
The Egyptian Navy maintains this maritime structure as part of their national network of navigational beacons along the Red Sea coastline.
The light signal flashes white every five seconds and requires lighthouse keepers to manually wind the lens drive mechanism at four-hour intervals.
The lighthouse retains its original Chance Brothers Fresnel lens with the hand-cranked mechanism from the 19th century, continuing its traditional operation.
