Can Llopis Romanticism Museum

Can Llopis Romanticism Museum sits in a Neoclassical building from 1793 and displays period furniture, Meissen porcelain, Murano glass, and musical instruments from that era. Elaborate wall decorations appear throughout the different floors of the house.

The building was built in 1793 as a home and remained the property of the Llopis family through generations. Manuel Llopis de Casades, the final heir, donated it to the Generalitat de Catalunya in 1935 to become a museum.

The rooms show how a wealthy family lived in the 1800s through furniture and decorative arts placed throughout the house. You can see the objects and decorations that surrounded this family in their daily routines.

The museum is part of the Barcelona Provincial Council Local Museum Network and is currently undergoing renovations. Check opening hours before your visit and consult the museum's website for the most current information.

The first floor contains forty-nine hand-painted tiles showing scenes with children and a board game from the Napoleonic era called Bis Bis. This rare collection shows what entertainment a wealthy family enjoyed during that time.
