Church of San Pedro Apóstol

San Pedro Apóstol is a Gothic structure in Alde Zaharra with stone walls, pointed arches, and sturdy pillars supporting its framework. A tower was added in the early eighteenth century, altering the building's profile with its distinctive shape.

Construction began in the late thirteenth century when the building rose near the city walls, serving both as a sanctuary and a protective structure. Its framework evolved across the centuries, with later additions addressing the city's changing needs.

The southern porch was designed by Fausto Íñiguez de Betolaza in 1897, blending medieval and Gothic Revival elements in an unusual mixture. This addition shows how the building adapted to new artistic trends while keeping its original framework intact.
