Pi de les Tres Branques

Pi de les Tres Branques is a pine tree in Castellar del Riu that rises to about 25 meters and naturally splits into three distinct branches. This distinctive shape makes it easy to spot and gives the tree its memorable appearance.

The tree started growing between 1630 and 1632 near a farmhouse that was being built, and it received its first written mention in 1685. Since then, it has remained a stable part of the local landscape.

The tree holds deep meaning for local people, who gather there for traditional celebrations connected to the region's heritage. It serves as a living symbol of community identity in the area.

A younger tree called Pi Jove grows about 300 meters away and also displays the three-branch formation. This connection between the two trees creates a living link across the landscape.
