Ciudad romana de Singilia Barba

Singilia Barba is a Roman settlement whose ruins spread across hillside terraces with visible ancient streets, public buildings, and homes. The site also contains a large Roman circus and theater structure, showcasing the urban layout and infrastructure of the period.

The settlement began about 2000 years ago during Roman expansion and became an important center for trade and governance. It experienced different phases of development before being abandoned as circumstances in the region shifted.

This place was a busy hub where Romans gathered in public spaces and conducted trade over many centuries. Walking through the remains, you can sense how daily life unfolded across the residential and commercial areas.

The site is easy to navigate with informational signs explaining the different areas and clear paths between the ruins. Wear good shoes since the ground is uneven and hilly throughout the archaeological structures.

A large theater structure lies hidden beneath the surface and was only fully documented in modern times through careful excavation. This concealed building shows how Romans constructed major structures into hillsides to make efficient use of space.
