Castell de Cervelló, Medieval castle in Cervelló, Spain
The castle sits on a hilltop of the Ordal mountains and features a polygonal layout with reddish stone walls and a trapezoidal tower.
First documented in 904, the castle resisted multiple conflicts, including the Arab invasions, until its partial demolition during the War of Succession in 1714.
The fortress maintains its status as a Cultural Asset of National Interest, representing significant medieval architecture and defense systems of Catalonia.
Recent restoration works, with a budget of 108,470 euros, focus on rehabilitating the chapel and adjacent structures within the lower enclosure.
Archaeological excavations at the site, conducted with the Autonomous University of Barcelona, revealed ancient ceramics, weapons, and an undiscovered floor.
