The Museu de l'Empordà occupies four floors, displaying collections ranging from ancient amphorae to contemporary art through multiple exhibition spaces.

The museum commenced its journey in 1885 when it received its first collection from the Prado Museum, leading to its establishment as a regional art center.

The permanent collection features works by notable Catalan artists including Sorolla, Casas, Nonell, plus regional creators such as Ramon Reig and Marià Baig.

Visitors with tickets to Teatre-Museu Dalí receive free entrance to the museum, which provides information cards in Catalan, Spanish, English, and French.

The museum houses charcoal drawings by Juan Núñez Fernández, who taught drawing techniques to Salvador Dalí during his formative years.
