Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Miravalles

The Santuario de Nuestra Señora de Miravalles is a Baroque sanctuary nestled in the Asturian mountains, featuring a single rectangular nave with ribbed vaults and stone walls. The structure sits at an elevated location overlooking the surrounding mountain landscape and is reached by traditional paths that wind through the terrain.

An early church was established at this location in 860 under King Ordono I, while the present Baroque structure was erected during the 1740s. The construction integrated elements from an older temple dating to the 15th century, connecting different architectural periods.

The sanctuary draws pilgrims and devotees from surrounding areas who come to honor the Virgin Mary through prayer and offerings. This place remains a gathering point where local religious practices and traditions continue to shape community life.
