Henge de Roda

The circular structure spans 50 meters in diameter with two stone walls connected by an outer ditch measuring between three and four meters wide.

Discovered in 2006 during highway construction between Barreiros and Reinante, this 3,700-year-old structure represents the first henge found on the Iberian Peninsula.

This prehistoric monument stands as evidence of early human gatherings and ceremonies in the Galician region during the Neolithic period.

The site remains under the protection of the Ministry of Development, with current efforts focused on preservation against natural erosion and plant growth.

Located at the base of a mountain, the structure features a specific northwestern entrance marked by what researchers identify as a potential menhir stone.
