Ancient Roman Theater of Guadix, Roman archaeological site in Guadix, Spain.
The theater features remaining walls of the scaena and orchestra sections, spread across an archaeological area of 1000 square meters.
Built around 25 CE on the northern slope of the hill where the Colonia Iulia Gemella Acci settlement stood, the theater operated through the first two centuries.
The structure represents Roman engineering methods with its orchestra placement and stage construction, following classical theater architecture principles of the period.
Archaeological surveys indicate additional unexplored sections surrounding the current excavation site, which visitors can examine during guided tours.
The theater remained hidden until 2007 when construction workers accidentally discovered its remains during underground operations.
