Guji Zone is an administrative area in the Oromia Region with varied terrain shaped by Mount Dara Tiniro and neighboring the Somali Region. The zone is connected by regional roads linking its administrative center Nagele to major towns like Shakiso Bore and Adola Woyu.
The zone was created in 2002 when several districts separated from the neighboring Borena Zone to form their own administration. This reorganization gave the area its own independent governance structure.
