Chapelle de la confrérie du Saint-Sépulcre

The Chapelle de la Confrérie du Saint-Sépulcre is a neoclassical chapel located at Place Garibaldi in Nice. The building features a three-level facade supported by substantial columns and decorated with a limestone balcony at the middle level, creating a balanced and formal appearance.

The chapel was built between 1782 and 1784 by architect Antoine Spinelli, replacing an earlier chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Sincaire. That previous building had commemorated the 1543 siege that affected the city.

The chapel serves the Brotherhood of the Blue Penitents, whose members wear distinctive robes and gather for regular religious ceremonies throughout the year. This living tradition shapes the spiritual identity of central Nice and remains part of the community's daily rhythm.
