Château de Villeconin

Château de Villeconin is a medieval castle located in the Rémarde Valley and is characterized by a round tower, guard room with exposed beams, and drawbridge tower. The building sits surrounded by moats at the park's edge with multiple rooms that reveal its past.

Jean de Montaigu, financial superintendent for King Charles VI, built the castle in the late 14th century. It underwent transformation during the Renaissance period, receiving new architectural elements.

The current owners live here and share their personal collection with visitors, telling stories from different generations. Walking through the rooms shows how the family inhabits and maintains the space.

Visits are best planned for spring and summer months when the property opens to guests regularly. Sturdy shoes are advisable since you walk through rooms and across the grounds where surfaces can be uneven.

The park changes with the seasons as different plants and roses bloom throughout the year. Boxwood clusters and perennial flowerbeds create a rhythm that gives visitors different impressions depending on when they visit.
