Château de Vinzelles, Medieval castle in Vinzelles, France.
The pentagonal castle features remnants of double walls, dry moats, and round towers that once protected its eastern, southern, and western sides.
The castle underwent restoration in 1621 following multiple attacks, and changed ownership from the Vinzelles family to the Saint-Amour family in the 14th century.
The castle interior contains a vaulted chapel and a large hall decorated with surviving hunting scene paintings on the walls.
The castle opens for visits daily from 1 PM to 7 PM during July, August, and European Heritage Days in September.
The property includes two classified castle monuments and a 17-hectare vineyard with a wine cellar housing historic wine presses from the 18th century.
