Château de Vézins, Medieval castle in Vézins-de-Lévézou, France.
The horseshoe-shaped stone fortress stands atop the village, featuring Renaissance architectural elements and decorated chimneys with sculpted coats of arms.
Built in 1120 by Vesian de Vézins to control the Lévezou district, the castle underwent major reconstruction after a fire destroyed most structures in 1642.
The interior rooms display Aubusson tapestries from the 16th and 17th centuries, along with period furniture including an original canopied bed.
The castle belongs to the Route des Seigneurs du Rouergue, a network of 23 castles in Aveyron that visitors can discover through organized tours.
The same family has maintained ownership of this castle for nine centuries, preserving its heritage through multiple architectural transformations.
