Château de l'Islette, Renaissance castle in Azay-le-Rideau, France.
The white tufa limestone castle stands between two branches of the Indre River, featuring two towers and a rectangular central structure with machicolations.
Built around 1530, the castle gained recognition in the 1890s when sculptors Auguste Rodin and Camille Claudel spent time there during their relationship.
The castle exhibits a bronze reproduction of La Petite Châtelaine, a sculpture Camille Claudel created during her stays at the property.
Visitors can explore inhabited rooms, rent rowing boats for river excursions, and enjoy picnics along one kilometer of riverbank from April to November.
The castle combines historical preservation with modern living, as the current owners maintain residence while allowing public access to their daily living spaces.
