Cleres Zoological Park, Heritage zoo in Clères, France
The zoological park extends across 26 hectares of land, housing 1,800 animals with a strong emphasis on bird species and conservation programs.
Jean Delacour, a notable ornithologist, established the park in 1919 on the grounds of a 14th-century château in northern France.
The park maintains scientific research programs focused on bird behavior and breeding practices while educating visitors about wildlife preservation.
The zoo opens its gates from February through October, providing visitors access to observe freely roaming animals like wallabies and blackbucks.
The park contains one of the largest bird collections globally, including rare specimens such as the Palawan peacock pheasant and Cuban whistling duck.
