Church of Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours, Rococo church in Nancy, France

Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours is a Rococo church in Nancy featuring four columns set into its facade and a distinctive dome with a clock tower. Its interior spaces are filled with intricate stucco work and painted vaults that give the building its ornate character.

The building was constructed between 1741 and 1750 by Emmanuel Héré de Corny on commission from Duke Stanisław Leszczyński. Its creation reflected the political ties between Lorraine and Poland during that period.

The church reflects a Polish connection through its decorations and the saints depicted on its walls. Visitors can sense the cultural exchange between Lorraine and Polish-Lithuanian lands in how the interior spaces are adorned.

The building is located in Nancy's historic center and is easy to reach on foot. Visitors should be aware that religious services take place at set times, and it is customary to be respectful during ceremonies.

The dome is topped with weathervane bearing the coat of arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, a visible reminder of the building's eastern connections. This rare feature links the church to the dynastic ties between western Europe and the Baltic region.
