Église Saint-Pierre de Tonnerre, Gothic church in Tonnerre, France
The Saint-Pierre Church features a baroque facade, stained glass windows from the 16th century, and a bell tower that marks the city center.
After a fire destroyed much of the structure in 1556, the church underwent reconstruction and modifications, leading to its current architectural form.
The church contains a collection of religious paintings from the 16th century and an organ from 1610 decorated with royal and papal coats of arms.
Located at 18 B Rue Armand Colin in Tonnerre, the church received official protection as a historical monument in November 1920.
The organ gallery displays decorated medallions featuring carved heads of monks and bishops dating from the 18th century.
