Temple of Mars, Corseul

The Temple of Mars in Corseul is an ancient Roman sanctuary featuring an octagonal central chamber enclosed by gallery spaces. Three substantial wall sections remain standing at approximately 10 meters in height.

The sanctuary was constructed in the middle of the 1st century as an important religious center in the Roman province. It remained in use until the end of the 3rd century when it was eventually abandoned.

The temple served as a spiritual center where local people and pilgrims gathered to honor gods and participate in ceremonies reflecting their Roman and Celtic identity. The space functioned as a place where these two cultures blended through religious practice.
