Menhir de Men Marz, Prehistoric standing stone in Plounéour-Brignogan-plages, France.

Menhir de Men Marz is a granite monolith that stands about 8.5 meters tall and weighs approximately 80 tons. The stone sits directly on the ground without any built foundation near the coastline.

This megalith was raised between 2500 and 4500 years ago. It became the first stone monument in Finistère to receive Christian symbols and carvings later in history.

The name Men Marz comes from the Breton language, meaning "great stone." This local name reflects how people in the region have called this monolith for centuries.

The stone is easily reached by following signs along Rue du Menhir in the village. An information panel at the site explains the location and its background.

Unlike many other megaliths from the same period, this stone maintains its position through natural balance rather than being buried in the ground. This unusual feature makes it rare among its prehistoric counterparts.
