Château de Silleron

The Château de Silleron is a castle featuring brick facades with sandstone bands framing narrow windows in the Louis XIII style from the 1600s. The property sits within walls that preserve original defensive features and is accessed through two grand entrance porches.

Construction started in 1617 under Vivien de Clercy and his son Jacques. New wings were added in the early 1900s, expanding the original structure.

The chapel inside holds woodwork from the Louis XIII period and shows how French noble families expressed their faith through the building's decoration. A reliquary cross on the north side demonstrates how religion and power were connected in this era.

The site is entered through two impressive gateway structures that lead onto the enclosed grounds. The preserved walls give visitors a sense of how the original fortifications were arranged around the property.

The side portal shares design features with structures found in nearby villages such as Auberville and Sommesnil. This regional connection shows how Norman building styles spread across the area.
