Château du Mesnil-Geoffroy

Château du Mesnil-Geoffroy, Historical château in Ermenouville, France.

Château du Mesnil-Geoffroy is a residence with buildings from the 17th and 18th centuries that preserve period furnishings and room arrangements, surrounded by a large French-style garden with structured pathways and planted areas. The entire property spans approximately ten hectares with trees, flowering beds, and designed spaces.

The château was founded in the early 17th century by Guillaume Le Seigneur de La Heuze and received its current form around 1740 when new owners carried out major renovations. These substantial changes, including a new garden design, shaped the property's appearance that visitors see today.

The castle displays the lifestyle of Norman nobility through its original wooden panels and period decorations that visitors can see in the rooms. These furnishings show how the family lived and entertained in the 18th century.

The gardens and rooms are open from May through September, with visitors able to explore the property on weekends, holidays, and select weekdays during afternoon hours. It is helpful to check ahead to confirm which days and times are available for your planned visit.

The property is known for its large collection of roses, with hundreds of different varieties planted throughout the gardens that catch visitors' attention. Each rose is labeled, allowing those interested to learn the names and characteristics of the plants.
