Petit moulin de Cherisy, Watermill in Cherisy, France
The petit moulin de Cherisy is a watermill in Cherisy, Eure-et-Loir, located on Rue de Sainte-Gemme. The building is made of brick and concrete, still holds many of its original elements, and was expanded in the 1980s with large grain silos.
The building dates from the 1930s and was constructed by the Lethuillier family, who had owned the site since 1866. In the following decades it was expanded with storage buildings, and in 1982 the architect Jacques Beluard designed the large silos that are still visible today.
The site is closed to the public but can be seen from the outside, making a short walk along Rue de Sainte-Gemme enough to get a good view. The building and silos are clearly visible from the street without needing to enter the property.
Despite its name suggesting a small and modest site, the large silos designed by Jacques Beluard in 1982 reveal that this was once a fully industrial milling operation. The contrast between the 1930s brickwork and the concrete silos is clearly visible from the street.
