The Passerelle des Galeries Lafayette is a glass walkway on the third floor that stretches about 9 meters across the central atrium. It sits suspended about 16 meters above the floor beneath the distinctive Art Nouveau dome that crowns the building.
This suspended passage opened in December 2023, adding a contemporary feature to the building's story that stretches back over 130 years. It represents a modern intervention into one of Paris's most recognizable shopping landmarks.
The walkway offers visitors a fresh perspective on the famous glass dome and its ornate design, reflecting how French luxury shopping spaces celebrate architectural beauty.
Access is free and can be arranged at ticket counters near the Café Coutume escalator during regular store hours. Time slots are distributed throughout the day to manage visitor flow comfortably.
