Okatse Canyon Natural Monument

The Okatse Canyon extends for 14 kilometers through limestone formations, reaching depths of 100 meters and widths between 3 to 20 meters throughout its course.

The canyon formed through geological processes over millions of years as the Okatse River carved through the limestone bedrock of the Imereti region.

Local residents maintain traditional agricultural practices in the surrounding Gordi village, preserving methods passed down through generations near the canyon's entrance.

The site features a 780-meter hanging walkway with metal stairs, requiring visitors to be at least 1.2 meters tall for safety considerations.

The canyon contains multiple natural stone bridges and a location called Boga, where visitors can observe the canyon floor from 100 meters above.
