Meenakshi Temple, Hindu temple in Madurai, India
The Meenakshi Temple is a historic Hindu temple located on the southern bank of the Vaigai River in the city of Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India.
The temple complex is thought to have been built in the 6th century BC, with major renovations and additions made in the 17th century AD.
It is dedicated to Meenakshi, a form of Parvati, and her consort, Sundareshwar, a form of Shiva.
