Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal, Palace in India
Thirumalai Nayakkar Mahal is a 17th-century palace erected in 1636 AD by King Thirumalai Nayak, a king of Madurai's Nayaka dynasty.
The palace was built with the help of an Italian Architect and is a classic fusion of Dravidian, Islamic and European styles.
The palace is famous for its giant pillars and is known as a national monument in India.
It is now a tourist spot and is maintained by the Tamil Nadu Archaeological Department.
The palace is divided into two major parts, Swarga Vilasam (Celestial Pavilion) and Ranga Vilasam.
