Bhoramdeo Temple, Hindu temple in Bhoramdeo, Chhattisgarh, India
Bhoramdeo is a stone Hindu temple near Kawardha in Chhattisgarh, located at the base of the Maikal hills. The outer walls show continuous fine carvings and human figures in different poses.
Rulers of the Kalachuri dynasty built the temple between the 10th and 12th centuries. Laxman Dev Rai from the Faninagvansh line led the construction and continued the religious tradition of his ancestors.
The name honors Bhoramdeo, a form of Shiva worshipped in this region. Devotees come here to light incense sticks and place flowers before the altars.
Access is via a road running about 18 kilometers (11 miles) northwest from Kawardha, also reachable from Raipur Airport. The surroundings are usually quiet and shaded, with trees around the temple grounds.
The reliefs resemble in composition the style of Khajuraho and Konark, with paired figures and dancing scenes. A small open-air museum beside the temple displays stone fragments and inscriptions from earlier centuries.
