Shinde Chhatri

The Shinde Chhatri is a three-story memorial and temple in Wanawadi constructed with black and yellow stone, adorned with elaborate pillars and intricate carvings throughout. The structure features colored glass windows and combines different architectural styles.

The site marks where the Maratha military leader Mahadji Shinde was cremated in the late 1700s, and his descendants later built this memorial to honor him. The structure became a way to preserve the legacy of this important military figure.

The temple section displays yellow stone idols created by skilled craftspeople, reflecting the spiritual practices observed by the local community. Visitors can witness traditional worship rituals that locals still perform here today.
