St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church, Palayur

St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Palayur is a place of worship featuring a tower-like roof above the central nave and traditional Hindu design elements at its entrance. The building combines different architectural styles within one structure.

According to tradition, the church was founded in 52 AD as one of seven churches established by the Apostle Thomas during his mission in India. This early Christian presence shaped the region throughout the centuries that followed.
