Ganjnameh Tourist Resort Complex, Achaemenid inscriptions in Hamadan, Iran.
The Ganj Nameh displays two large stone panels measuring 2 by 3 meters, carved into the granite rock of Mount Alvand at 2000 meters elevation.
During the 5th century BCE, King Darius I and King Xerxes I ordered the creation of these trilingual inscriptions to document their lineage and achievements.
The inscriptions combine Old Persian, Neo-Babylonian, and Neo-Elamite languages, reflecting the administrative diversity of the Achaemenid Empire in ancient Persia.
The archaeological site stands 12 kilometers southwest of Hamadan city, with nearby facilities including restaurants and designated parking areas for visitors.
Local inhabitants named the site Ganj Nameh, meaning Treasure Book, believing the ancient inscriptions contained secret codes leading to hidden riches.
