Aliabad Tower

The Aliabad Tower is a cylindrical brick structure in Bardaskan region that rises approximately 31 meters high and is made from brick, plaster, and decorative tiles. The building has thick walls and features ornamental patterning on its exterior surface.

The tower was built in the 14th century during the Ilkhanid dynasty and stands as a significant architectural example from that era. It gained national heritage protection status in 1932 and has been preserved as an important historical landmark since then.

This tower displays the mathematical harmony of Persian architecture through its multi-sided geometric forms, which were typical of domed structures from this period. Visitors can observe how the interior spaces were carefully proportioned to create a balanced effect.

The site is located in a remote area and is best reached by private vehicle since public transportation options are limited. It is advisable to gather local directions beforehand, as road signs in the region are not always clear.

The structure served not only as a defensive tower but also as a mausoleum, which is evident in its inner design. The careful application of tiles and plaster inside reveals the intention to create a dignified burial chamber.
