Marble Palace, Royal palace in Tehran, Iran

The Marble Palace features stone and marble construction with extensive botanical motifs, animal patterns, and green marble decorations across 2,870 square meters.

Construction began in 1304 under Reza Shah Pahlavi's direction with architect Hossein Lorzadeh, transforming from a royal residence to a museum in 1355.

The palace exhibits Iranian art pieces spanning from the fifth millennium BCE to contemporary periods, displaying paintings, furniture, and traditional craftsmanship.

Located on Valiasr Street between Imam Khomeini and Jomhuri streets, the palace opens daily except Fridays from 9 AM to 12 PM and 1 PM to 4 PM.

The palace served as the location for royal marriage ceremonies, including Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi's engagement to Soraya Esfandiari and Farah Pahlavi.
